The Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), has announced the opening of 20 new multifamily and single-family residences at the site of the 50-year-old Fischer public housing development here. The 20 residences are the first phase of a 123-unit project, slated for completion on Sept. 30, White said.  Once the remaining 103 units are constructed and residents have moved in, the Fischer public housing development, which is in poor condition, will be demolished, Adonis Expose, a spokesperson for HUD, told MHN.
